First Post

As this is my first official post I will start by saying hello to all fellow bloggers. The purpose of this blog is for me to be able to share what I consider real and honest information with my fellow citizens and the world. Oh, I live in Huntsville, Texas USA. And for the record I am not a republican, I am not a democrat. I do not consider myself conservative or liberal. I feel I have enough intelligence to make my own decisions without the need to belong or fit in with some group or organization.

Women

Let your women keep silence in the churches: for it is not permitted unto them to speak: but they are commanded to be under obedience, as also saith the law. And if they will learn anything, let them ask their husbands at home: for it is a shame for women to speak in the church.

I Corinthians 14:34-35

If a man finds a damsel that is a virgin, which is not to be betrothed, and lay hold on her, and lie with her and they be found; Then the man that lay with her shall give unto the damsel’s father fifty shekels of silver, and she shall be his wife; because he hath humbled her, he may not put her away all his days.

Deuteronomy 22: 28-29

And Moses said unto them, “Have ye saved all the women alive?” Behold these caused the children of Israel, through counsel of Balaam, to commit trespass against the Lord in the matter of Peor, and there was a plague among the congregation of the Lord. Now therefore kill every male among the little ones, and kill every woman that hath known a man by lying with him. But all the women children, that have not known a man by lying with him, keep alive for yourselves.

Numbers 31:15-18

The above fate is suggested by historians to have been taken on the nation of Moab, rather than Midian, and later edited for political correctness in the age of David.

Children

If a man have a stubborn and rebellious son, which will not obey the voice of his father, or the voice of his mother, and that, when they have chastened him, will not hearken unto them: Then shall his father and mother lay hold on him, and bring him out unto the elders of the city, and unto the gate of his place; And they shall say unto the elders of his city, This our son is stubborn and rebellious, he will not obey our voice; he is a glutton, and a drunkard.

And all the men of his city shall stone him with stones that he die: so shalt thou put evil away from among you; and all Israel shall hear, and fear.

Deuteronomy 21: 18-21

Slavery

Let as many servants as are under the yoke count their own masters worthy of all honour, that the name of God and his doctrine be not blasphemed. And they that have believing masters, let them not despise them, because they are brethren; but rather do them service, because they are faithful and beloved, partakers of the benefit. These things teach and exhort. If any man teach otherwise, and consent not to wholesome words, even the words of our Lord Jesus Christ, and to the doctrine which is according to godliness; He is proud, knowing nothing but doting about questions and strifes of words, whereof cometh envy, strife, railings, evil surmisings, Perverse disputings of men of corrupt minds, and destitute of the truth, supposing that gain is godliness: from such withdraw thyself.

Prince of Peace?

Think not that I am come to send peace on earth: I came not to send peace, but a sword. For I am come to set man at variance against his father, and the daughter against her mother, and the daughter-in-law against her mother-in-law. And a man’s foes shall be they of his own household.

Matthew 10: 34-36

If any man come to me, and hate not his father, and mother, and wife, and children, and brethren, and sisters, yea, and his own life also, he cannot be my disciple.

Luke 14:26

But those mine enemies, which would not that I should reign over them, bring hither, and slay them before me.

Temper, Temper

And on the morrow, when they were come from Bethany, he was hungry: And seeing a fig tree afar off having leaves, he came, if haply he might find any thing thereon: and when he came to it, he found nothing but leaves; for the time of figs was not yet. And Jesus answered and said unto it, “No man eat fruit of thee hereafter for ever.” And his disciples heard it.

And in the morning, as they passed by, they saw the fig tree dried up from its roots. And Peter calling to remembrance saith unto him, Master, behold, the fig tree which thou cursedst is withered away.

Mark 11: 12-14 , 20-21

Question: Why did Jesus look for figs when Mark says that it wasn’t fig season?

Matthew 21:19 says “…And presently the fig tree withered away.” which means Matthew interpreted it to happen immediately after Jesus issued the curse.

Homosexuality

In Romans 1:19-23, Paul first explains that mankind has no excuse to be unrighteous because all things in creation manifest themselves as God’s work and are “clearly seen” (1:20) as such. He then explains that those that turn against these observations, “Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools” (1:22). The heretics are said to change the image of God into beasts, and then in verses 24-27:

Wherefore God also gave them up to uncleanness through the lusts of their own hearts, to dishonour their own bodies between themselves: Who changed the truth of God into a lie, and worshipped and served the creature more than the Creator, who is blessed for ever. Amen. For this cause God gave them up into vile affections: for even their women did change the natural use into that which is against nature: And likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust for one another; men with men working that which is unseemly, and receiving in themselves that recompence of their error which was meet.

Romans 1:24-27

Paul appears to be saying that homosexuality is not a natural occurrence in human beings, but is caused by corruption of the spirit. It has been biologically and psychiatrically proven that homosexuality is set into the brain long before puberty (read: the age of consent), and that the attraction towards similar sex can be found abundantly in nature. (The second of these two points can be interpreted to agree with Paul, in that man is compared to beasts and not God’s image, and so is only a valid argument when related to natural tendencies of the brain, as opposed to learned behavior.)

Marriage

For I would that all men were even as I myself. But every man hath his proper gift from God, one after this manner, and another after that. I say therefore to the unmarried and widows, It is good for them if they abide even as I. But if they cannot contain, let them marry: for it is better to marry than to burn.

1 Corinthians 7: 7-9

This suggests that one purpose of marriage is to use the woman as an outlet for the lusts of men, without fear of punishment.

Mat 4:4=> But he answered and said, It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God.

Please be careful. Although we may feel wounded by them, or think we know better, we do well to hold them reverently and meditate on them carefully.
